Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power.
Praise Him for His mighty acts: praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
There's only one way to sing God's praise: from your heart.
NUMC'S Worship Band will rock God's house with joy and praise. The band is led by singer/composer Jason Retana and features an amazing ensemble on piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, and drums. Psalm 150 (above) says praise God "with stringed instruments" and "loud cymbals." And our band has a good time doing just that. Also featured are several talented vocalists who provide a lush wall of rich harmony over the Band's rocking beat.
The Worship Band plays each Sunday in the 11:00 am service, appealing to a cross-generational congregation that enjoys getting up on their feet, singing, clapping, and dancing along. Want more? Individuals interested in joining the band are welcome to contact Jason. The Band rehearses Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary.
"Come just as you are, hear the Spirit call…come and see, come receive, come and live forever…" --Songwriter Joseph Sabolick
"I love these lyrics," says Retana, "especially because it meets the listeners where they are and welcomes them into God's presence. You don't have to be perfect to get closer to God."
