What You Can Expect

On Sunday Morning – Be our guest.

Parking –The is located on Reseda Blvd., but the main parking area is off of Superior St. If you park in the main lot, you can walk to the Sanctuary either through the Fellowship Hall or around the parking lot to the main drop-off area.

After walking through the gardens (we hope you had time to stop and smell the roses), you will enter the sanctuary, be greeted by an usher and given a bulletin with an order of worship and upcoming events in the life of the church. You are welcome to use the Bibles and hymnals in each pew or follow along on the screen during the service.

If you have children bring them with you! We offer a VBS-style during the service in the Kendall Building. If you have really little ones, you can stop by the nursery, and drop off the littles or bring them with you and make use of the cry room if you need it.

The service will include Communion, if it is the first Sunday of the month, all who believe in God are invited to join in communion when the ushers invite you. You do not need to be a member of the church.

We ask that you sign in using the registration pad at the end of each pew. Why? We want to know that you are here and if you need anything. We invite you to include prayer requests and contact information.

Gathering – Plan to stay after the 10 AM service for the Fellowship time (beginning at 11 AM) which includes beverages and snacks, or grab a wonderful hot breakfast.

Why We Join Together

Explore shared values and opportunities to worship, serve and be in fellowship through involvement in a faith-based community whose understanding of God is Christ-taught and Biblically informed.

We encourage persons to confirm their commitment with vows of membership, joining in covenant with other members of Northridge United Methodist Church and more than 12 million United Methodists worldwide, as a committed way to participate in Christ’s universal church.

How You Join

There are four ways to join:

  • Profession of faith, if you have not previously been a Christian church member
  • Re-affirmation of faith, if you have at one time joined a church but are not currently connected
  • Transfer from another United Methodist Church
  • Transfer from another denomination
Those interested in joining Northridge United Methodist Church attend a one session membership class. Further information is available through the church office. (818-886-1555) WHEN YOU JOIN The United Methodist Church provides for a brief membership ritual that is included during a time of common worship. Persons choosing to take the vows of membership are welcomed before the congregation by the pastor and a lay leader. Affirmation is given to these questions:
  • Do you believe in God Almighty, creator of all things, and accept the gift of life given to you by the grace of God?
  • Do you believe in Jesus Christ, by whose grace you are freed from the errors of your past and are called and empowered to meet the full promise of your life?
  • Will you take an active part in the work of Jesus Christ through the ministries of the Northridge United Methodist Church?
  • Will you uphold the church by your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service and your witness?
With each observance of this liturgy the congregation renews their vows.
