Children's Ministries
Northridge United Methodist Church invites children preschool through 5th grade to join us in energetic Sunday School classes featuring video, narrative, arts & crafts, and music. Nursery care and Sunday school is offered during the 10 am service every Sunday.
Safety: At Northridge UMC we follow the 'Safe Sanctuaries policies.' Your child’s safety and care is important to us.
Special Needs: We welcome children with special needs and their families. If your child has special needs (no matter the type) we want to work with you to make their time at church safe, fun, & meaningful and to allow you to have peace of mind while you are in worship. Please let Pastor Yo Han know if you have any specific requests or ideas of how we might best assist you and your child. Our Sunday School teachers and nursery care workers have all participated in an introductory training course about working with children with special needs.
If you have any questions you can email Pastor Yo Han Han at 1021yohan@gmail.com
Northridge UMC Sunday School
Your children's first time at NUMC
Parents are invited to bring their children pre-school through 5th grade to the Kendall Building (between the fellowship hall and sanctuary) and sign them into Sunday School prior to the start of the worship service. Sunday School teachers are ready to receive children at 9:45am for the 10am service.
“Deep Blue” Sunday School combines the fun energy of large-group experiences along with the intimate impact of small groups. You get interactive worship, games, skits, and more that let kids spend their time doing the Bible lesson, not just listening to it.
Kids will spend the majority of their time in a VBS-style large group with high energy music, fun videos, and plenty of large group learning. They will then transition into small groups (preschool, lower elementary, upper elementary) where they will experience God's word through experiential learning activities and review their weekly. There is also a Deep Blue Sunday School app for smartphones & tablets that parents and kids can access during the week.
On the first Sunday of the Month: Sunday School teachers will bring the children to the sanctuary near the end of the worship service so that the children may participate in communion.
