Friends of Music

WELCOME TO OUR 5TH SEASON!

What began in 2011 as a wish and a prayer is now an established part of NUMC. Friends of Music has brought fine musical performances from around the world as well as from right here in the San Fernando Valley.

We have an extra special concert coming in February that will feature Harmony Ji of the Shanghai Opera Company. Harmony earned a Master of Arts Degree in music at CSUN and was a soloist and section leader in the Chancel Choir here at NUMC before returning to Shanghai.

We know that you will enjoy the music and the environment of the Northridge United Methodist Church. Our previous concerts are still being talked about for their excellence and variety.

We offer these concerts to help maintain the tradition of music here at Northridge United Methodist Church. Proceeds from our concerts help to provide support for a broad range of musical programs. Our youngest singers begin with the Children’s Choir, preschool – 5th grade, who enjoy a wonderful music readiness program, as well as our Youth Choir. Our Jubilee Handbells provide a learning group for youth and adults. The top adult performance groups include our Celebration Handbells, our Solid Rock praise band and our forty-voice Chancel Choir. We also have one of the best jazz venues in the southland with our monthly Jazz vespers service every second Sunday at 6:00 P.M. Throughout our programs we strive to bring excellence to our praise of God and the Celebration of Life.
